What we collect

We collect what you give Allie, what your family shares with you, and what’s needed to keep you signed in and notified.

Your account: email address, name, how you sign in (email code, Google, or Apple), and your role in the family. It comes from you, and from Google or Apple when you sign in with them.

Your family: who’s in it, their roles, a child’s guardians, and invitations. It comes from you and your family’s adults.

What you write and keep: chats with your assistant, what your assistant knows about you (memories), lists, to-dos, requests, group chats, polls, and reminders. It comes from you, and from family members who share with you.

What Allie makes for you: briefs, notifications, reminders, and receipts for what your assistant did. Allie makes them from what you can see.

Calendars you connect: your calendars’ events, and a sealed key to read and write them. They come from Google or Microsoft, when you connect a calendar.

Your devices: signed-in sessions, which app each is (web, iPhone, Watch), push notification tokens, and your time zone. They come from your devices.

Records of changes: which client made a change, when, and whether it worked, with no message text or list contents. Allie’s servers keep them.

The waitlist: your email address, if you join it on askallie.com.

Allie doesn’t use cookies for advertising or analytics, and the public site sets no cookies at all.

Why

We use your data only to run Allie for you and your family. We don’t sell it, show ads, or use it to train AI models.

To be your assistant: your assistant reads what you can see in Allie, and only what the work in front of it needs, to reply, remind, and write your briefs.

To coordinate with your family: what you share reaches only the people you shared it with. Another member’s assistant never reads your private chat or private memories.

To keep you signed in and notified: sessions, devices, and push tokens deliver notifications to the devices you choose.

To keep Allie safe and working: records of changes help us find faults and abuse, with no message text in them. A child’s chats get a safety check (when child accounts are on, see Children).

To answer you: when you write to support.

When your assistant changes something for you, such as a list item or something it remembers, your chat shows a receipt saying what it did.

How we protect your data

Allie uses encrypted HTTPS connections when it communicates with Google Calendar and its AI service. We encrypt calendar connection refresh tokens with AES-256-GCM. The encryption keys are held as server secrets, and each encrypted token is bound to its member and connection.

Allie checks who is allowed to see calendar data before showing it or giving it to an assistant. When a calendar is shared as busy time only, the people it is shared with see the time without the event title.

Who processes it

A few companies run parts of Allie for us. Each gets only what its part needs.

Cloudflare runs Allie’s servers, stores its data, and sends its email (from no-reply@mail.askallie.com). It handles everything Allie keeps.

Vercel AI Gateway routes requests to Anthropic’s Claude models for your assistant and briefs. These requests may include calendar information your assistant is allowed to see, such as event titles, times, and locations. Vercel says its gateway deletes prompt and response content after each request and keeps operational records, such as the model, provider, and usage. The model provider may retain data under its applicable terms.

Google provides Sign in with Google, if you use it, and Google Calendar, if you connect it. It handles your Google sign-in and the calendars you connect.

Microsoft provides Outlook calendars, if you connect one. It handles the calendars you connect.

Apple provides Sign in with Apple, if you use it, and notifications on iPhone and Apple Watch. It handles your Apple sign-in, push tokens, and notification text.

Your web browser’s push service delivers notifications in your browser, if you turn them on. It handles push tokens and notification text.

Notifications show a private preview unless you choose full ones, so the text that passes through Apple and push services names only what you may see.

When you connect a calendar, the events you or your assistant create or change are written to Google or Microsoft. Those copies follow their policies, not this one.

Allie’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How long we keep it

  • Retention depends on the record
  • Briefs: 30 days
  • Downloads available for up to 7 days
  • Database recovery window: 30 days

We keep what you write until you delete it or delete your account; a few things go sooner.

Chats, requests, threads, lists, and memories: until you delete them, or your account.

Briefs: 30 days, then deleted.

A memory you tell your assistant to forget: removed from saved memories. Allie also leaves conversation turns it identifies as linked to that memory out of the history used for later replies. The original chat messages remain in your history, and other copies or paraphrases may remain.

A connected calendar’s synced events: kept until you disconnect it. Calendar information already included in chats, proposals, or downloads follows the retention of those records.

A download of your data: available for up to seven days. We schedule its file for deletion when that period ends.

Our main Cloudflare databases use a rolling 30-day recovery window. Deleting information from the live service does not immediately remove earlier recovery copies. This recovery window is separate from deletion-request records and the retention practices of the service providers described above.

When an account deletion completes, we remove the email address, family name, and shared-list choices from its request record. We keep limited identifiers and progress information to show deletion status and help reapply account deletions during recovery. Completed records are scheduled for cleanup after 30 days; unfinished requests stay until resolved. Cleanup depends on scheduled maintenance running successfully.

When you delete your account, your messages in shared chats and threads are deleted too, and people see “Former member” where your name was. What others made stays theirs, including items you added to their lists.

Your choices

You decide who sees what, and you can take your data or delete it at any time, in the app.

Who sees each list, calendar, and chat: private, some of your family, or everyone, changed at any time. Removing access prevents further reads of that shared list, calendar, or chat through Allie’s servers. Connected apps clear affected saved copies when they receive or fetch the sharing change; an offline device may keep its saved copy until it reconnects and refreshes. Copies someone downloaded or saved separately may remain.

What your assistant knows: see it, correct it, or make it forget, on its “What … knows” page. Saved memories are separate from your chat history. You can ask your assistant to save a memory or accept its suggestion. In chat, Allie asks for confirmation before saving a memory it identifies as sensitive.

Passwords, codes, and card or ID numbers: Allie blocks details it detects from being saved as memories, but detection can miss them. Chat messages are stored separately and may be processed by your assistant, so please don’t send these details in a chat.

Notifications: by category, by device, quiet hours, and private or full previews.

Download your data: You › Data and privacy › Download my data. It holds what you can see in Allie, as you see it.

Delete your account: You › Data and privacy › Delete my account. It starts at once and can’t be undone, after you sign in again to confirm.

Leave your family: your private things come with you, and you choose what happens to lists you shared.

Sign out everywhere: from your devices list, which ends every session at once.

Disconnect a calendar: its connection credentials and synced events are removed from Allie. This does not delete events held by Google or Microsoft, or calendar information already included in chats, proposals, or downloads.

Children

Allie’s first release is for people 13 and over: child accounts are off, and Allie isn’t for anyone under 13 yet.

Child accounts will turn on only after a separate review of how they work.
